Crab Grass Infestation
Crabgrass is a plant that normally does not survive in our area due to its need for a hot and dry environment. The hot and dry weather from the last two summers has been favorable for some crabgrass growth in our area. Most of the crabgrass that has established in our area is growing in the "heat areas" of lawns. These heat areas are mostly along the curbside, drives and building foundations. The crabgrass plant reproduces by spreading seeds from the last year's plant. These seeds lay dormant until the next season when they begin to grow and infiltrate into the lawn.
